RECONSTRUCTION OF MBALE SSS BOTANICAL GARDENS
RECONSTRUCTION OF BOTANICAL GARDEN AT MBALE SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL BY THE OLD STUDENTS:
OUR 1ST LEGACY PROJECT.
We intend to delineate the original Botanical garden to constitute habitat of some of threatened species of plants and turn it into a natural heritage...a natural site of value from the point of view of science, conservation and/or natural beauty.
Research and Education is going to be the main focus. The curated plant collections will highlight many important biological and cultural themes, focusing on the role of plants in human lives. With time, we shall be able to move to the Botanical Garden and see food plants and medical plants from around the world. We will be able to learn about plant diversity. Each plant that will be in the collection will have its own story to tell and we will spend hours in the garden reading these stories.
Although the garden will focus on research and education, there will be an undeniable beauty and tranquility to it. Science serves to remind us that outdoors is a form of healing, a space away from the overabundance of stress, doubt and pain that plaques most of us.
So, one way we wish to reconnect to our former school is to honour the renewed Botanical Garden's role. I therefore, implore you to enormously contribute to this legacy project and we shall surely, be remembered.
The working committee came up with a budget of ten million shillings to have this project done. Contribute any amount of money and every single cent will be accounted for.
Thank, you.
Mwami Phanuel 1992 - 1998.

Here, we pool resources together in a well established system courtesy of DFCU bank.
These funds are your individual savings, on a daily or monthly or weekly basis. As we grow together, we expect to grow bigger financially through venturing in profitable investments out of our savings.
To be part of Mossic, you contribute a one life time membership fee of 50,000 shillings and an annual subscription fee of 50,000 shillings only. A member can then proceed to save accordingly. Whereas the MOU provides that one will deposit their savings at the end of the month, efforts are underway to have the MOU amended so as to permit members to deposit at leisure and according to every individual's financial strength.
